Celebrations of The International Day of Radiant Peace,
March 22 and June 22

With Heart First Joy, I'd like to share how 1000 Steps for Radiant Peace was created. The seeds of this Radiant fundraiser truly were a group effort!!! I knew that we needed funds for our ongoing Radiant Peace programs, and that at our last TRTIA conference in May of 2002, we had come up with a number of dates that would focus on simultaneous fundraising across the world.

One of these simultaneous fundraising dates was on March 22, 2003 -- The International Day of Radiant Peace. A creative idea that had been suggested for celebrating this special day was to do a Radiant Peace walk -- and I had heard over the years that, indeed, several radiant beings had done their own walks in honor of this worldwide event! At the beginning of this year, a friend of mine had shared that she was going on a fundraiser walk to raise money for saving historic outdoor stairs near her city. Then, a coworker of mine mentioned that she loves to participate in charity walks/runs, and goes to several each year. Both of these friends had mentioned how fun and uplifting these types of events were. "Aha!", I thought. Why not combine this type of fundraiser walk together with the celebrations of The International Day of Radiant Peace? Instead of "stairs", we would take "steps for Radiant Peace"!!! We could get our friends, family, coworkers and neighbors to sponsor us and pay per step. And, since it was steps, not miles that people sponsored, I thought of 100 steps as a number to commit to for walking. This was approximately 1/2 mile. For these 1000 steps people could walk, run, swim, skate, dance...anything they wanted to do! And, since weather would still be cold in some areas, and hot in others -- people could have their walk anywhere they wanted -- in a shopping mall, on the beach, at their workplace, etc.! They could walk individually or in a group. And, they could spread the walk out over any number of days, if they so chose.

The response to 1000 Steps for Radiant Peace has been wonderful, both from those who walked and those who were sponsors! Their sharings are joyous and enthusiastic. I've learned to now look at other types of fundraisers and see how they might uniquely work for TRTIA. And, I encourage you to experience for yourself the opportunity of designing your own fundraiser for TRTIA -- the expansion and Joy I have experienced are beyond words. Radiant hearts, Radiant hands...and, Yes, Radiant feet, do make a difference!!!

On the International Day of Radiant Peace, I participated in the "1000 Steps for Radiant Peace" Fundraising Project. I chose to walk into the Gulf of Mexico on a fishing pier that thrusts more than 1,000 feet from the shore. I also chose to walk at sunset.

As I walked, I patterned cosmic symbols and did Attunements internally. It was a rare opportunity to be in both worlds -- walking along the wooden planks and being careful not to stumble over fishing rods or bait buckets, dodging around people coming the other way, all the while patterning cosmic symbols and being present with the radiant symbols. And not being distracted from the Attunement or pattern I was creating in my mind.

Once I reached the end of the pier, I leaned against the railing and did inner planes Attunements with the water, with the setting sun, with the people around me, and with the watching birds that are attracted to the site by the promise of free fish -- pelicans and egrets, especially.

Once the sunset, I returned to shore, again walking along the wooden pier while attuning and patterning on the inner planes. I lost track of time. Nearly two hours passed. But the only clock I had was the setting sun -- a much more natural measure of the cycle that ends each day.

I have sincere gratitude for the concept and support that made my 1000 Steps profoundly more meaningful.

Saturday, March 22nd was a glorious spring day on Eastern Long Island so I decided to take my "1000 Steps for Radiant Peace" along Long Island Sound. As I stepped onto the beach I started to count "One...Two...Three..." It was very meditative being in tune with each step, listening to my breath, the waves lapping against the shore and my voice counting out these Peace-full steps. After I finished my 1000 steps, it was such a beautiful day I just continued walking, now patterning the cosmic symbols of TRT®.... By the time I finished I felt more peaceful than I had in a long time. Walking for Peace, The Radiance Technique® and a beautiful spring day by the water helped to remind me that we Earthlings do resonate in harmony with universal love.

In the High Noon Energy, during our 1000 Radiant Steps for Radiant Peace on March 22, 2003, three of us walked about a half mile to a small park in my neighborhood, holding Radiant Peace in our Hearts. Continuing our Peace Meditation as we walked through the little park, past a small waterfall, among tropical plants and trees, and then to the children's sandbox, where we handed out Radiant Peace Stickers. The stickers were Radiantly received by all - and especially by a little girl who looked to be about 2 or 3 years old. She hesitated for a moment before accepting the sticker, then clutched it tightly. Nearly an hour later, as we were leaving, we saw her playing in the sandbox, still holding tightly to her Radiant prize. We also handed out stickers to passers-by as we walked back to my home. One young couple seemed reluctant to take any, but when we told them that this was not "political" - but was about doing our part by holding Peace in our hearts - they happily took them; and had we had any stickers left, would likely have taken them, too. It was a Joyous, Heart First experience for all of us. Gratitude for providing us with that Opportunity.

March 23: 1000 Steps for Radiant Peace. Montezuma's Well and Montezuma's Castle. A day of abundance and gratitude. A sunny breezy day with wildflowers in abundance, water flowing abundantly in the well and at the river. Our Stepping Consciously for a 1000 Steps was a great tool for going inward and connecting to the natural world around us. When we quiet down from our chattering selves so much innerconnections are there to be experienced....

I began my walk of 1000 Steps planning I would do it a certain way -- and it expanded into something else spontaneously alive -- different than the plan I had made! What a profound opportunity to listen and act in each moment...

It was pouring rain, so instead of walking on the beach as planned, I walked inside my own home. And, instead of doing the 1000 Steps all at once, I did it in cycles throughout the day!

At the beginning of my walk, I began directing energy using The Radiance Technique® -- and continued patterning the cosmic symbols throughout. I became aware of a great innerconnection with others who had committed in their hearts and with their feet to share Radiant Peace during the timing of The International Day of Radiant Peace on March 22nd.

In the first cycle of 300 steps, I began walking while holding in my heart the soldiers and citizens involved in the war in Iraq. Using the images I had seen on television of the sandy desert, I saw myself there walking in the healing energy of Radiant Peace.

During the next cycle of 300 steps, I invited into my heart all those whom I knew were participating in this 1000 Steps fundraising project. This involved all who were walking, those who were sponsoring the walkers, and those who were consciously directing energy using TRT® to this project.

In the remaining cycle of 400 steps, the energy expanded to include the whole of planet Earth -- her citizens, animals, forests, waters -- all held in my Radiant Heart as I practiced walking in harmlessness. In my hand I carried a Radiant Peace Patch as a "seed of Light" to plant along the way.

Even after completing the 1000 Steps walk, the energy of walking in Radiant Peace continues to come into my heart! The other day I found myself entering my local post office in the energy of Radiant Peace that I had experienced during the 1000 Steps walk. It is a Radiant Joy to know that "seed of Light" planted during the 1000 Steps walk continues to spiral and expand in my heart!!!
